Everybody loves desserts

Desserts can make the ultimate ending for any meal or affair. It is usually the one thing that sticks with you after the affair.

When I was a youngster (instead of the old bald guy I now am) my major memory was of our family picnics. We had them at my grandmother's for each of the summer holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day). We always had a great time swimming in the creek and using the rowboat and canoes. However, the major memory is home made ice cream. Everything from the taste of freshly made ice cream. The effort it took towards the end to crank it (yes I am that old and this was before the electric ice cream makers of today) are still fond memories.

So desserts can be the best of memory makers. The scope of ideas for desserts is quite varied. They can range from the standards of cakes, pies and ice creams to cordials and apertifs. Torts, flans, and various chocolates can also create a nice ending. So check around and find some ideas to make your own memories for your affairs.
